Tanzania Sicklecell Warriors Organization (TASIWA) conducted Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) awareness education at Angelina Mabula Secondary School in Ilemela, Mwanza, reaching over 1,000 students. The initiative aimed to challenge myths and misconceptions about SCD, promote accurate knowledge of its hereditary nature, and encourage informed decisions through early genotype testing and appropriate genetic counselling.

The education also equipped students with knowledge on how to support classmates, relatives, and community members living with SCD, while encouraging empathy, inclusion, and equal treatment. By empowering young people to become ambassadors of SCD awareness, TASIWA continues to promote understanding, reduce stigma, and build supportive communities for sickle cell warriors and their families.
