World Sickle Cell Day is commemorated to raise public awareness and understanding of Sickle Cell Disease (SCD), highlight the challenges faced by people living with the condition, and encourage further research to improve prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care.
TASIWA extends its sincere appreciation to the Honourable District Commissioner of Nyamagana, Philis Nyimbi for serving as the Guest of Honour, as well as the Director General of Bugando Medical Centre, for their participation and support during the commemoration.
Together, through education, research, early diagnosis, and community support, we can challenge misconceptions, reduce stigma, and improve the lives of people living with Sickle Cell Disease.
Have hope. Stand strong. Keep fighting sickle cell disease.text
