TASIWA conducted a Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) awareness training for selected parents, teachers, and students, recognizing their important roles in shaping and influencing the community. The training aimed to equip participants with accurate information about SCD so they could share their knowledge, challenge misconceptions, and promote understanding among their families, schools, and communities.
By educating parents, teachers, and students, TASIWA sought to extend the reach of sickle cell awareness beyond the training sessions and encourage a more informed and supportive society for people living with SCD.
Educating one parent or teacher can help educate an entire community.
