TASIWA is proud to officially launch the first activity under its new Securing Health, Improving Lives Project: a capacity-building training for 37 Community Health Workers (CHWs) from Ilemela and Nyamagana districts in Mwanza Region.

The training aims to equip CHWs with essential knowledge and skills on Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) to raise community awareness, recognize potential early signs, identify affected families, and link them to appropriate healthcare services and support.

This initiative reflects the strong partnership between Tanzania Sicklecell Warriors Organization (TASIWA) and Baylor Tanzania, with funding from Bristol Myers Squibb. Through this collaboration, we are strengthening community-level healthcare, promoting early identification, and addressing stigma and misconceptions surrounding sickle cell disease. At TASIWA, we are committed to building healthier, more informed, and empowered communities—one step at a time.
