TASIWA hosted a community dialogue bringing together religious leaders, local government officials, health workers and parents of children with sickle cell disease.
The conversation focused on common myths — that sickle cell is caused by witchcraft, that it only affects certain families, or that children with SCD will not survive to adulthood. Health workers explained the science of inheritance, and warriors shared what living with the condition is really like.
Participants committed to carrying accurate information back to their congregations and communities.
